Investment Associate (Private Equity)

Our client is an entrepreneurial PE investor in mid-market companies in the DACH region with sales of up to EUR 200 million. Currently they are looking to add Investment Analyst to their team. 

You will become a member of the investment team, responsible for supporting all aspects of deal identification and execution, as well as conducting high-impact market and industry research that will help shape the firm’s investment strategy in German-speaking Europe. This is an opportunity to  join the core deal team of an entrepreneurial mid-market private equity firm, where the candidate will be expected to display strong leadership both in shaping the company’s strategy and delivering results, while also being involved in future fundraising activities

Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of due diligence and deal execution, including market research, financial projections, valuation and strategic assessment
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to senior members of the deal team and the investment committee
  • Draft investment memoranda, assist with conducting and documenting of comprehensive due diligence and help with the legal transaction documentation
  • Collaborate with consultants and industry experts to define and conduct high-impact industry research projects, relying on both primary and secondary sources, in order to help share the investment strategy and identify attractive investment targets

Requirements:

  •  Experience with renowned management consultancies, investment banks or other private equity firms; previous private equity or leveraged finance experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree from a leading university in Europe or the US; CFA is a plus
  • Excellent project management, communication, financial analysis and problem solving skills
  • Excellent skills in financial modelling  and presentations
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to plan and manage a variety of projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive under ambiguity and demonstrate creativity and intellectual flexibility in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment
  •  Fluency in German and English with strong written and verbal communication skills
